Netherton Utd's dominance of local football was complete last night as they celebrated with a 4-2 win against Moulton Harrox in the PFA Senior Cup Final played at the ABAX stadium.
This Cup win marked a haul of four major trophies - a sensational and unprecedented quadruple or "awesome foursome"- a dream that became reality and a perfect way to end a remarkable season!
In a gruelling campaign the team has won the PDFL Premier League title for the first time ever, the Northants County Cup for the first time ever, the President Premier Shield and the PFA Senior Cup final, again for the first time ever.
The PDFL 1st team has never before won more than a single major trophy at this level so to complete a quadruple is a magnificent achievement. This not only makes the side the most successful PDFL team in club history but also one of the most successful sides ever over one season in local step seven football.
Congratulations once again to the management team of Jon (Abbas), Tommy and Simon, to the Seniors committee of Ian, Eddie and Martin and especially to all the players.
Thanks also for the great support from those who have attended games throughout the season including players families and friends and especially for the strong support at the Abax Stadium last night.
